A shawarma delivery man crashed his car on Nassaulaan in Vlijmen on Friday night. The car ended up upside down in the bushes next to the road. The accident happened around half past two at night.
When the fire brigade arrived, it turned out that the driver had already gotten out of his car. He was checked by ambulance staff, but did not need to be taken to hospital. He did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Officers have registered the driver for a course at the CBR, because he has been involved in accidents before. The CBR must assess whether the man actually needs to take the course.
The course is intended for people who exhibit dangerous or risky driving behavior. This involves working on traffic insight and responsible driving behavior. In the event of a final imposition, participation is mandatory; refusal may result in the driver’s license being taken away.
The delivery man’s car was recovered from the bushes by a recovery company. The car is a total loss.
