For the video for her new song “Acróstico”, the Colombian singer Shakira (46) brought her two sons Sasha (8) and Milan (10) in front of the camera.

Together they sit at the piano and sing about the love of a mother for her children.

“This year Milan has written songs that brought tears to my eyes and Sasha has spent hours at the piano discovering his voice,” Shakira wrote on Instagram Monday. “It’s so nice to see them spread their wings to make their dreams come true. There is nothing that fulfills me more than being her mother.”

The video shows moving boxes and an empty children’s room – apparently a reference to Shakira’s move from Barcelona to Miami. “All I want is your happiness. And be with you Your smile is my weakness,” the song says. “Loving you heals my pain. Whatever you need, I’m here for you. You came to complete me.”

When her sons found out the new song was dedicated to them, they wanted to star in the video, Shakira wrote on Instagram.

Shakira and Spanish soccer star Gerard Piqué (36) split up last year after a 12-year relationship. Most recently, the musician released several songs that were interpreted as a reckoning with the father of her sons. “And even if life treats me like this, I will only be strong for you,” Shakira now sings in her new song.
