Shaggy scored hits worldwide with songs such as Boombastic, It Wasn’t Me and Angel. It sold more than 40 million copies. The rest of the cast was also announced on Tuesday. In addition to Sting and Shaggy, Declan Bennett, Lauren Samuels and Annette McLaughlin are on stage.

The Last Ship is inspired by Sting’s childhood in Wallsend, British. The musical tells the story of the community that threatens to disappear when the shipbuilding industry, the heart of their existence, closes.

The original version of The Last Ship premiered in Chicago in 2014 and also appeared on Broadway that year. In 2013, the singer released an album of the same name, which included some songs written for the musical. The version in Carré is a new staging of the performance, with partly new music and new scenes.

After the performance period in Amsterdam, the performance will travel to Paris, Australia and New York, among others.
