Sha’carri Richardson became world champion over 100 meters two years ago. Now the sprinter drew attention to herself.
US sprint star Sha’carri Richardson was temporarily taken into custody in Seattle last weekend. This reports several US media, citing a police report last Sunday.
The trigger was a dispute with Christian Coleman, also Sprinter and Richardson’s partner. The incident occurred at Seattle-Tacoma Airport. According to the reports, Richardson Coleman is said to have pushed and pulled on his backpack. An employee of the security check then alerted the police.
Richardson was arrested overnight. However, according to the police, Coleman did not want and emphasized that they did not want to be considered a victim. The US Athletics Association did not want to comment on the incident.
Richardson became world champion over 100 meters in Budapest in 2023. At the Olympic Games in Paris, she won silver in singles and gold with the 4×100 meter relay.
