Mestis team Tuto’s head coach Jonne Virtanen has been suspended for four matches by the Mestis disciplinary team.

Virtansen was sentenced to a game penalty in Saturday’s Tuto-IPK match, when he got angry and threw drinking bottles and papers on the ice and broke the stick. The game penalty was automatically a three-game suspension, and now one more game was added to it.

Virtanen became enraged after Tuto’s ice cream.

Mesti’s disciplinary team saw in its recent decision, that Virtanen’s intention was not to hit the match referee with the things thrown onto the ice. Still, Virtanen is considered to have effectively thrown them in the jury’s direction.

Virtanen’s inappropriate behavior had continued at the point when he had already been ordered to leave the match.

– In this context, the employee has also directed a loud verbal protest reinforced with strong words in the direction of the referee of the match, Mestis’ press release says.

– Overall, the employee’s actions have been quite reprehensible and excessive in the situation.

Consequently, the disciplinary team imposed an additional penalty of four matches on Virtane.

According to Pekka Virra, Mesti’s interest value is on the rise. IL-TV
