On Wednesday night there was a fire in an apartment building on Reinickendorfer Strasse in Hennigsdorf in the Brandenburg district of Oberhavel. Several people were injured.
According to initial findings, there was a fire in the basement of the house around midnight, and toxic smoke gases spread at lightning speed.
The fire brigade had to bring several residents to safety on site, and they were given first aid by emergency doctors and paramedics. Some were taken to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.
The fire brigade was on site with a large contingent and triggered the mass casualty incident.

Arson has been a regular occurrence in Hennigsdorf for some time, the last fire was on May 16th. A cellar also burned here. There is a suspicion of arson.
