Seven injured after hot air balloon hits high-voltage line in France | Abroad

The balloon’s 45-year-old pilot was electrocuted and his six passengers, three women and three men aged between 47 and 59, suffered minor injuries.

The basket came to a stop at a height of two meters and the occupants managed to reach the ground floor themselves. The electricity was interrupted for a while in the vicinity of the accident to remove the balloon.

According to initial findings, the pilot had encountered a technical problem and had performed an emergency maneuver. Valensole is located near the famous Gorges du Verdon, a picturesque river gorge, and is also known for its vast lavender fields.
