Preußen Münster has won the relegation battle of the 2nd Bundesliga. After nine games without success, the previous table 16th won. with 2:1 (0:0) at Eintracht Braunschweig and thereby pushed Lower Saxony into the relegation place.
Within four minutes, the guests turned the game around with goals from Jorrit Hendrix (71′) and Oliver Batista-Meier (75′). The 1-0 win for Braunschweig was headed by, of all people, Münster native and long-time Prussia player Lukas Frenkert (56th). On the other hand, Münster’s former Braunschweig player Paul Jaeckel saw yellow-red in the 88th minute.
Effective Karlsruhers win in Magdeburg
With their second win in a row, Karlsruher SC has moved into the middle of the second division table and shot rival 1. FC Magdeburg into relegation. The Baden team won their away game 3:1 (1:0). Louey Ben Ferhat (20th) gave the guests the lead. In the 53rd minute he made it 2-0 with an 18-meter shot in front of 24,081 spectators. Dariusz Stalmach (66th) managed to connect before KSC captain Marvin Wanitzek (87th) made the decision with his sixth goal of the second half of the season.
2-1 against Nuremberg: Hertha shows reaction after debacle
Hertha BSC showed a reaction a week after the 2-5 defeat in Paderborn and extended their lead over 1. FC Nürnberg. The Berliners won 2-1 (1-1) in the Olympic Stadium against coach Miroslav Klose’s team and are now seven points ahead of the Franconians in the table. FCN has been waiting for an away win since November.
Double goalscorer Josip Brekalo (20th minute/88th) was Hertha’s match winner. Tom Baack (45th + 1) scored the interim equalizer. Little changes in the table for both teams: the gap to the promotion and relegation places remains clear.
