Serious traffic dispute: man arrested for assault and vandalizing car with crowbar NOW

A 56-year-old from Tilburg is suspected of assaulting a 49-year-old fellow citizen during a traffic quarrel on Monday evening. He would also have smashed a door and the rear window of the victim’s car with a crowbar. The police have arrested the man.

The two motorists got into an argument on the Baroniebaan in Tilburg around 9.10 pm. According to the victim, the other driver was driving his van next to him and wanted to change lanes too early. To avoid a collision, both drivers had to swerve to the roadside.

The two then got into an argument at a traffic light at an intersection further on. The 49-year-old Tilburger told the police that he shouted at the other driver. According to the victim, the man was not pleased with this; he got out at the next intersection.

The suspect then allegedly slammed the other driver’s door shut. As a result, the man was unable to get out and his arm and back became trapped. The suspect then allegedly smashed a window and door. At that moment, the injured victim managed to drive away.

In the meantime, he called the police and gave the suspect’s license plate number. Agents were therefore able to arrest him at the Burgemeester Baron van Voorst tot Voorstweg. Police say a crowbar was found in the car.
