Serious allegations against dismissed Pistons makers

A former employee of the Detroit Pistons from the North American professional basketball league NBA has publicly accused deputy club boss Rob Murphy (50), who was fired on Wednesday, of sexual harassment.

DeJanai Raska told Detroit television station WJBK that Murphy groped her in front of her daughter and on the Pistons’ premises and tried to force her to have sex. Raska subsequently sued Murphy and the Pistons.

“Silence is not an option,” said the 32-year-old: “I want justice. This is my chance to speak the truth, my way, and it will be heard and give me back my power.” It was “like a nightmare,” she explained: “I can’t even watch basketball anymore.”

Murphy worked his way up the ranks at Detroit, meeting his victim in his 2021 enlistment as president of the Pistons’ development team. Last June, he was finally promoted to deputy general manager before the Pistons fired him just four months later due to the allegations initially made internally. Murphy was fired Wednesday for violating company policy and the terms of his employment contract.
