Serious accident with three cars in Varsenare, one person does not survive

The accident happened this morning along the Gistelsteenweg between the roundabout of Jabbeke and Sint-Andries Brugge. Three cars were involved. One passenger has died.

Two cars collided head on. In one of the other cars was a woman with two children. They were shocked and taken to hospital for a check-up. It is still unclear exactly how the accident happened. Whether weather conditions played a role is yet to be determined.

Emergency services are still on site. Currently no traffic is allowed through.
