A motorist was injured in a single-vehicle accident on the Dordsedijk near Klazienaveen.
The man collided with his car head-on against a tree, after which he became trapped and had to be freed by the fire brigade. A trauma team was also on site.
The driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The roadway is littered with debris. The road between Klazienaveen and Weiteveen is temporarily closed in both directions.
