In the postponements of C, a very important external success for Tomei’s Marche team on the league leaders’ pitch. Sorrento loses in group C

A penalty in the 101st minute reopens Group B of Serie C: Corazza goes to the spot and beats Venturi, thus sealing the victory for Ascoli (2-1) in the highly anticipated direct clash in Arezzo. The challenge at the top, decided in full injury time (long review at FVS, due to a withholding not initially sanctioned), thus updates the rankings with four matchdays remaining: 70 points for the league leaders, 68 for Ascoli who now believe in it (but are behind, overall, in the two direct clashes having lost 2-0 in the first leg). This is how it ended with Tomei’s team celebrating under 600 fans arriving from the Marche region, in a stadium packed with almost 8 thousand spectators. An epilogue that came when the draw seemed like a done deal, after an intense match played on equal terms. Lots of tactics until the half hour mark. A save on the line by Renzi in the 20th minute, then the balance (in the 34th minute) was broken for an episode: Arezzo had the ball stolen from underneath, Gori pressed on a clumsy dribble by Iaccarino and Rizzo Pinna took advantage of it and went straight towards goal. Ascoli took the lead, but it didn’t last long: the equalizer came after just 3′ with Renzi, who did well to exploit Cianci’s lead following a great idea from Pattarello. The second half passes without great emotions, with the substitutions trying to mix the cards: Tomei, who wants to win it, switches to double center forward, placing Chakir alongside Gori. Bucchi seems to be able to contain it without any problems. The most interesting things, in reality, happen after the 90th minute: Arezzo risks winning it with Varela (Vitale did well to close the door on him), but shortly after he is punished in a melee in his own area. Having metabolized a missed opportunity by Milanese, Tomei plays the card for a hold by Gilli on Corazza: referee Poli sees it again on the monitor and points to the spot. Corazza himself does not tremble, thus signing Ascoli’s seventh victory in a row. The one that opens a real two-way sprint for the direct B.

In the other postponement, that of group C, 2-0 for Casertana over Sorrento: Butic scored at the start and Bentivegna scored after time had largely expired, after interruptions due to a hailstorm and a blackout.
