Serie A: SSC Napoli remains the leader

SSC Napoli has defended its lead in the Italian Serie A. Inter Milan, on the other hand, keeps losing ground.

The team of national soccer player Robin Gosens lost 1: 2 (1: 1) to AS Roma on Saturday (October 1st, 2022). Federico Dimarco (30th) gave the Lombards the lead, Argentinian Paulo Dybala (39th) equalized for the capital club. The Englishman Chris Smalling (75th) scored the winning goal for Rome. Gosens initially only sat on the substitutes’ bench and was substituted on in the 81st minute.

With twelve points, Inter is already eight points behind leaders SSC Napoli, who won 3-1 (3-0) against FC Torino on Saturday.

AC Milan wins in Empoli

Inter’s city rivals AC Milan did better and celebrated a 2-1 win in Empoli. Ante Rebić put the team ahead in the 79th minute, but Nedim Bajrami equalized in added time for Empoli. But in the end, late goals from Fodé Ballo-Touré and Rafael Leão gave Milan the better end. With 17 points, the champion is now in third place in the table.
