Serie A: Inter takes advantage of Juve mistakes

Inter Milan took advantage of Juventus’ mistake and moved away at the top of the Italian Serie A.

The cup winners won 2-0 (1-0) at Lazio Rome on Sunday evening, the lead over Juve grew to four points. The Old Lady didn’t get past a 1-1 (1-0) draw at CFC Genoa on Friday.

Inter’s local rivals AC Milan consolidated third place in the top flight. The Rossoneri won 3-0 (2-0) against AC Monza and have 32 points after their tenth win of the season. Inter is at 41, Juventus at 37.

The Dutchman Tijjani Reijnders (3rd), the 18-year-old native of Nürtingen Jan-Carlo Simic (41st) and the Swiss Noah Okafor (76th) scored the Milan goals. The Milan team played without German international Malick Thiaw, who had a thigh injury.

The former Schalke player suffered the muscle injury in the Champions League duel against Borussia Dortmund (1:3) at the end of November.

Argentine world champion Lautaro Martinez (40th) and former Gladbach player Marcus Thuram (66th) were successful for Inter. At Lazio, Manuel Lazzari saw red in the final phase (86th).
