After the International Day of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, here’s what will happen over the weekend on the pitches of Serie A, B, Lega Pro, Amateurs and women’s football. And Minister Locatelli arrives at San Siro
Last Wednesday was the International Day of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, proclaimed by the UN with the aim of raising public awareness on the issues of inclusion and the removal of all types of barriers. Football now wants to do its part. The Lega Serie A and the Paralympic Football Division of the FIGC have planned a series of joint initiatives, which will be concentrated on this 14th matchday: in all stadiums the giant screens will broadcast the video of the initiative, created by the Paralympic Football Division, while the dedicated graphics ‘Zero barriers! The Minister for Disabilities Alessandra Locatelli will then arrive at San Siro and take to the pitch to greet the players of the Paralympic and Experimental Football Division who will be wearing the shirts with the words #IoValgo #IlCalichediTutti, created specifically for the match on 3 December by the Ministry. “The initiative – explains Minister Locatelli – is one of the various awareness-raising activities that we wanted for this special day. I thank the FIGC, the Serie A, B and Lega Pro Leagues, LND and the Women’s Division for their commitment to promoting a new perspective that highlights the potential of each person without stopping at the limits. Because each person has a value in which we can invest more as institutions, as a private world and as individual citizens, without leaving anyone behind”.
