Semih Saygıner donated his world championship cue for education

World-famous national pool player Semih Saygıner said, “I donate my cue, which won the world championship.
Semih Saygıner, who has made his mark among the most important names of Turkey and the world in billiards, donated the cue he used when he became the first world champion in 2003 to the earthquake victims. The world-famous national pool player, who contributed to the project coordinated by Darüşşafaka and the Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation in order to provide ongoing support to the education of children in the earthquake area, stated that the objects that the athletes attach great importance to in their museums lost their importance in the face of the disaster.

“SUPPORT SHOULD BE GIVEN UNTIL THE LAST CHILD FINISHES SCHOOL”

Expressing that the earthquake shook everyone deeply, Semih Saygıner said in a statement to Demirören News Agency (DHA), “Our lives have changed, the lives of the people there have changed, we have losses. I wish God’s mercy on all of them and a speedy recovery to the injured. But life continues in one way or another here. and support needs to be continued. We have done some things, but it has come to such a project that the children who are left there and lost their families, especially have to continue their education life. With what money and with what kind of support they will do this. The state will do some things, of course, but we will also do it on ourselves. I think we need to do our part. That’s why I liked this organization very much when I heard about it. Because this is a movement that also makes us realize that we should support it as athletes, but as a country, as citizens, as a state, a permanent support should be given there. until the child finishes school. Education is very important, it is very important for children to read, they have u in front of them. there is a long life. There is great suffering there. That’s why this project intrigued me. I donated my cue, which represented my country as an athlete and won my first world championship, to this organization. This is both Darüşşafaka and Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation-based organization, the money goes there. These products will be auctioned on the Socratessahada.com website. I hope these products are sold at good prices. I’m donating my cue that won the world championship,” he said.

“METE GAZOZ DONATES THE Arrow THAT HE IS THE OLYMPIC CHAMPION”

Semih Saygıner pointed out that the national archer Mete Gazoz donated the arrow, for which he became an Olympic champion, and said, “These are objects that the athletes give great importance to in their own museums. But they lose their meaning in the face of this event. It has lost its meaning for me. “People who want to buy this and add it to their own collection and spend money on this work will support it. I think we will be providing ongoing support. I wanted to contribute to explain this a little bit,” he said.

“WE SEE HOW A CITIZEN IS ONE HEART”

Expressing that many athletes also have special jerseys within the scope of the auction, Semih Saygıner said: “There are jerseys they wear in very special matches. For example, Drogba wore a very special jersey, he donated it. I think it’s a very special thing too. He There are donations from many athletes like ‘. They give out from their own museums. I hope this movement will make people take action. What we are trying to do here is not to raise money and say, ‘We collected money, you can read it with this money’. Everyone affected by the earthquake needs support. Especially the children who have lost their mother, father and family who need to continue their education. I hope this project achieves its purpose because there needs to be ongoing support. We supported it, okay? He doesn’t show off, he gives. We live from this country, we represented this country and this is happening in this country, people need support too.’ If we take action like that, it’s time to be one heart. We saw how the citizens are one heart. This made me very emotional.”
