The railway deck is the roof of the rail underpass. Now that it is in place, a few meters of land are being excavated under the Spoordek for the construction of a road and a cycle path. Next to the Spoordek, a bridge is being built over the Zuidtangent, where a new road has to be.
Again trains on Monday
Now that the Spoordek is in place, the track must be restored on the route. The contractor expects that this will take another 66 hours, writes Streekstad Centraal. According to ProRail and the contractor, trains have to run again on the new concrete trainek. Travelers between Alkmaar and Heerhugowaard no longer have to take the bus.
Next Monday, the work of ProRail on the track between Heerhugowaard and Den Helder will in all probability will also be completed. ProRail has replaced railway bridges at a number of locations and Station Den Helder Zuid has been given a new look.
