Second division: Royal HFC is the only club to take three points

It was a disappointing day for the North Holland clubs in the second division. AFC (1-0), OFC (2-1) and Jong FC Volendam (0-1) all went down. Only Royal HFC took the full loot against IJsselmeervogels (2-0).

15′ 1-0 Jacob Noordmans
69′ 2-0 Jim Hulleman

Jacob Noordmans was once again important to Royal HFC. He broke the spell against IJsselmeervogels with his fourth goal of the season. Noordmans also seemed to make the 2-0 a few minutes later, but his header was taken off the line by former HFC player Wessel de Boer. The Haarlem-squad then continued to hand out pinpricks to no avail. In the counterpunch it was Mitchel Michaelis, who could easily catch a header.

Almost immediately after the break, IJsselmeervogels received a penalty. The opportunity was missed by Mike van de Laar, Michaelis stopped the ball. HFC straightened out and got a big chance through Jim Hulleman. He stranded on keeper Jaimy Schaap. Hulleman was dangerous again a few minutes later, but found Schaap in his way again. Three times turned out to be a charm, because the third big chance was hit.

With the win, Koninklijke HFC is in sixth place in the second division with one point less than AFC.

Cossack Boys – AFC 1-0

73′ Lars Hutten 1-0

Raily Ignacio created the first danger on the side of AFC against Kozak Boys. His cross was tapped against the inside of the post. Kozak Boys got away well a few minutes later, after another ball hit the post. Splinter de Mooij also created danger after a mistake in the back. Goalkeeper Bryan Janssen was again a bummer. Just before half time, the home team had a good chance via Lommers, but his shot slowly rolled past the post.

Lars Hutten created the first chance in the second half. He came face to face with Gijs van Zetten. However, his shot went full against the goalkeeper. For a long time, this game seemed to end in a draw. The opening goal was eventually scored by Hutten. The attacker shot the ball behind Van Zetten. In the final phase, the team from Amsterdam insisted, but without success. This marked the second loss of the season.

Despite the defeat, AFC continues to compete in the upper echelons of the rankings with four points less than Quick Boys.

The equalizer of Eric Veerman (6) was not enough for a point – Pro Shots / Erik Pasman

FC Lisse – OFC 2-1

3′ 1-0 Enzo Stroo
45′ 1-1 Eric Veerman
45+2′ 2-1 Allon Koene

For OFC it went wrong after three minutes on a visit to FC Lisse. Enzo Stroo, former FC Volendam striker, headed the ball in from a pass by Max Hudepohl: 1-0. Lisse remained the most dangerous team and created chances via Toon Zwetsloot (header on the crossbar) and Allon Koene (shot just over). The Oostzaners started to take over the initiative and even seemed to score. This goal was disallowed for offside. Not much later Eric Veerman took care of the equalizer.

However, the hosts went into halftime with a lead, after Koene shot in hard from a corner: 2-1. In the second half, the chances became much less significant. Stroo seemed to make his second of the afternoon on a pass from Jaap Zwetsloot, but he was unable to convert the cross. Just before time, OFC had another huge opportunity, but it was narrowly saved by Erik Cummins. Because of this, Pieter Mulders’ team lost again in the second division.

The Oostzaners remain in last place and have now lost four times in a row.

Young FC Volendam – Scheveningen 0-1

71′ Michael de Niet 0-1

In the opening phase at Jong FC Volendam against Scheveningen, the promises were the dominant party without great opportunities. The visitors increasingly took the initiative and were close twice via Barry Rog and Michael de Niet. It was the latter who struck in the latter part of the match. On a pass from Lex Immers, De Niet headed in hard. Volendam tried to change the score in the remainder, but to no avail.

Due to the loss, Jong Volendam drops to the penultimate place in the second division.
