Second day victory in a row for cyclist Charlotte Kool in Ladies Tour

After being the fastest in the prologue of the Baloise Ladies Tour yesterday, Charlotte Kool was also the strongest in the first stage today in the first stage. The cyclist from Kortenhoef won the bunch sprint and thus also strengthened her lead in the general classification of the multi-day stage race through the Netherlands and Belgium.

In the flat stage with a finish in Zwevegem, Belgium, the last two escapees were caught ten kilometers from the end. As expected, there was a sprint for the stage victory. Four kilometers before the end, Kool and her teammates could barely avoid a big crash in the peloton. In the final sprint, the 24-year-old sprinter was faster than compatriot Lucinda Brand and Emma Norsgaard from Denmark.

In addition to the day victory, Kool also took bonus seconds and thus strengthened her lead in the general classification. The Baloise Ladies Tour will last until Sunday.
