Sebastian Vettel misses the Formula 1 race in Saudi Arabia

Sebastian Vettel had hoped to race in Saudi Arabia until the end. However, the Aston Martin driver was unable to provide the necessary negative corona test. Now he has to pass.

Sebastian Vettel’s corona disease also put a spanner in the works for the second Formula 1 race of the season in Saudi Arabia. After the TV broadcaster ntv reported that Vettel would not be present at the race because he was not able to test himself in time, Aston Martin officially confirmed the race a little later. Nico Hulkenberg is available again as a representative for Vettel.

Aston Martin hopes that Vettel can be back at the next race in Australia. The four-time world champion is still in the Corona squeeze, the 34-year-old had already missed the start a week ago in Bahrain.

Hulkenberg at it again

Nico Hülkenberg, on the other hand, is not going into the race in Saudi Arabia unprepared. He had already prepared for the next unexpected mission. He landed in Jeddah on Thursday after having sniffed the previously unknown route on the Red Sea in the simulator at the factory.

“I’m just preparing for it now, because we don’t know how Seb is and whether he can drive or not,” Hulkenberg told Motorsport Magazine. Now he knows and can score points himself.
