For Luca Herrmann from the second division soccer team SG Dynamo Dresden, the season has ended prematurely.
Persistent problems in his left knee are forcing the midfielder to undergo surgery, which is due to take place in Munich on Wednesday.
The subsequent development and rehabilitation training will no longer allow the 23-year-old to play this season, Dynamo said.
