Season off for Gensheimer: failure for half a year, Rhein-Neckar Löwen – handball

The 35-year-old had an operation on his injured Achilles tendon earlier this week, said the Rhein-Neckar Löwen. This ended the season for Gensheimer prematurely.

It was already known at the end of February that Gensheimer would be absent from the Bundesliga handball team for a longer period of time because of the injury. The doctors had initially assumed a downtime of around three months for the left winger.

“There’s no question: Uwe is a world-class player and the lions will miss him a lot.”, said coach Ljubomir Vranjes. The lions are in tenth place in the Bundesliga table and are lagging behind their own expectations.
