Search for Emilia (75) continues: 250 people help search police in Maasmechelen | Maasmechelen

For the fourth day in a row, there is an intense search for the missing Emilietta ‘Emilia’ Chini (75) in Maasmechelen. This Saturday morning around 10 am, teams from the Flemish Rescue Dogs Belgium vzw and BORG gathered again to comb the area around Leopoldstraat and the Tuinwijk.

Emilietta Chini left her home on Damhertstraat in Eisden-Tuinwijk on Wednesday late afternoon and has been missing ever since. The whole of Flanders sympathizes with the family of the missing woman. At least 250 people came to the new large search this Saturday morning. The search is being carried out at Leopoldstraat and Tuinwijk, and no longer in the woods. “We have already combed almost the entire forest,” says the LAMA police. For example, the Mechelse Bos, the Lanklaarderbos and the areas of Terhills with the slag heaps and the large pond were already completely searched with sniffer dogs on Friday. On Thursday, the federal police helicopter flew over that vast area.

Emilia’s relatives, such as her brothers and sister, sounded gradually distraught on Friday, because so far there has not been a single concrete lead that can lead to the woman. Since Wednesday, the woman suffering from dementia has been searched fruitlessly with drones, heat cameras and sniffer dogs. The family thought they recognized her on Friday on images from a camera at a house on Faesschehoeveweg, but that is not completely certain.

Anyone who has information about her disappearance can contact the police via [email protected] or the free number 0800/30.300.
