On Monday, May 12th, the opening plea was held in the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs. In the course of this, the first two witnesses were also heard before the Federal Supreme Court in New York: a hotel security employee and a sex worker. During the latter’s statement, Combs’ daughters repeated the courtroom.

Great media interest and full court halls

There are no cameras approved, only by court artists: the mood in the courtroom can be guessed at. Media representatives: Inside, there are said to have lined up across an entire street block – as well as numerous visitors: inside. Since not everyone fits into the courtroom, so -called “Overflow Rooms” were set up, in which the events can be followed. Including the “People Magazine”, which reported a particularly stirring scene.

The three daughters of Combs left the courtroom twice during the statement by the sex worker Daniel Phillip. Phillip reported that Combs’ ex-girlfriend Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura paid him to sleep with her while Combs watched. He also testified that witnesses of violent attacks by Combs have been against Ventura.

Daughters leave the hall: statement with stressful details

Despite the stressful statements, the daughters returned to the courtroom every time. They also remained present when the public prosecutor’s office showed a surveillance video from 2016, on which it can be seen how Combs throws Ventura to the ground.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is on trial, among other things, because of human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation (“sex traffic”) and the associated organized crime. He advocated “not guilty” and rejected a comparison with the public prosecutor. Share his family – three daughters, a son and his mother – were closed behind him on Monday.

“It is heartbreaking to see how my son is not judged according to the truth, but after a story created from lies,” said Janice Combs, the mother of the accused, on October 6, 2024 about her lawyer Natalie G. Figgers in a statement to “Hollywood Reporter”.
