A burning boat floats on the Weespertrekvaart in Amsterdam, right next to the Solitudo Bridge. This is a major fire, a fire brigade spokesperson confirms. It is still unclear whether anyone was present on the ship and whether there were any injuries.
The report of the fire came in around 7:45 p.m. The fire started small and has grown bigger. Police, fire brigade and ambulance are on site. The fire releases a lot of smoke.
AT5 receives several tips mentioning a ‘floating boat’. The fire brigade advises people who are bothered by smoke to close windows and doors. “And turn off mechanical ventilation.”
