Sea mushrooms float in the harbor channel of Nieuwpoort

The sea mushrooms or cauliflower jellyfish are light blue in color. Don’t be alarmed, they are not dangerous because they have no tentacles. They only cause minor irritation. Normally they only wash ashore in the autumn, but in recent years they have come earlier and earlier. In 2019, the beach in Nieuwpoort was already full.

The images were made by Luc David from Natuurpunt.
