Scream 7 became a farce: “Dream job turned into a nightmare”

The Scream 7 movie is in the headwinds.

by Christopher Landon was slated to direct the anticipated seventh Scream film. He unexpectedly announced last Saturday that he was leaving the entire film project.

Star actors had already disappeared from the film earlier Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega.

Barrera was forced to leave the film after showing his support for Palestine and strongly criticizing Israel. He said Israel is carrying out genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

Ortega will not be seen in Scream 7 either. Ortega blamed Netflix for the absence Wednesdayregarding the series.

Landon left the film of his own accord.

– This is a disappointment for some and a happy thing for others. A dream job turned into a nightmare. I have nothing else to say but I hope so by Wes Craven (director of the original Scream) legacy flourishing. What he and Kevin (Williamson, screenwriter) created is something unique. I am happy that I was able to be part of this even for a short moment, Landon said in his press release.

The Scream movie series was revived in 2022 with the release of the Scream movie. It is also known as Scream 5. Ortega and Barrera starred in Scream 5 and the movie that followed it, and they were supposed to continue to be involved in Scream.

Landon was also blamed for Barrera’s firing on social media.

– Here’s my view: Everything sucks. Stop yelling. This was not my decision, Landon announced in connection with the firing news.

It is not yet known who will direct the upcoming Scream and who will play the main roles.

The very first Scream movie came out in 1996. The roles included, among others Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox.
