Scoring Willems and Viergever are relegated with Greuther Fürth, three goals against for Flek | Foreign football

BundesligaNick Viergever and Jetro Willems will no longer play with Greuther Fürth in the Bundesliga next season. A goal by Willems was to no avail against the Bayer Leverkusen of Mitchel Bakker and Daley Sinkgraven: 1-4.

The relegation of Greuther Fürth had been coming for a while. Viergever and Willems have only won three games with their club this season. Although Willems opened the score after five minutes and thus gave the fans of the home team good hope again, the afternoon ended in a minor way. After eighteen minutes, the 1-0 lead had turned into a 1-2 deficit due to goals from Patrik Schick and Serdar Azmoun.

After the break, Paulinho made it 1-3 after 58 minutes. Then Willems left the field while Bayer Leverkusen Sinkgraven just came in. In the 84th minute, Exequiel Palacios determined the final score at 1-4, making relegation a fact for Willems, Viergever and their teammates. At Bayer Leverkusen, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Jeremie Frimpong were missing.
