A scooter rider was injured in a collision between a scooter and a car on Spoorbaanweg in Sprang-Capelle on Tuesday evening. For unknown reasons, the scooter collided with an oncoming car.
The scooter rider was taken to hospital by ambulance. It is not known how seriously he is injured.
The impact was significant and the car also suffered extensive damage. The front wheel broke completely and the car was later removed by a towing company. After the collision, the scooter ended up in a ditch next to the road and was removed from the water with a crane.
According to the police, the driver had ‘an angel on his shoulder’ that he survived this heavy blow. They are still investigating how the accident could have happened.
