A scooter caught fire in Assen last night. That happened around 4 a.m. in the Oude Molenstraat in the center of the city.
The scooter was parked in front of the window of a clothing store. The store was also damaged by the fire. A window was shattered, causing smoke and heat to enter. The sprinkler system in the store then went off.
The fire brigade extinguished the fire. There is nothing left of the scooter. The extent of the damage to the clothing store is not yet clear.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
