Scientists have listed drugs effective in the treatment of “omicron”

Eight antiviral drugs, which were also used in the fight against previous strains, showed high efficiency in the treatment of patients with the COVID-19 omicron strain. About it informs Cell Research magazine, citing the results of a study by scientists from the University of Kent and Goethe University Frankfurt.

In the study of cell cultures, scientists found that “omicron”, like its predecessors, is sensitive to eight antiviral drugs. These are EIDD-1931 (the active metabolite of molnupiravir), ribavirin, remdesivir, favipiravir, PF-07321332 (nirmatrelvir, the active ingredient of paxlovide), nafamostat, camostat, and aprotinin.
