Schuurs and Middelkoop lose in mixed doubles at US Open
Tennis players Demi Schuurs and Matwé Middelkoop have been eliminated in the first round of the mixed doubles of the US Open. The Dutch duo lost in straight sets to the Czech Lucie Hradecka and the Pole Lukasz Kubot: 6-4 6-4.
Schuurs and Middelkoop were placed eighth in New York. Schuurs will still be in action in the second round of the women’s doubles. Middelkoop was eliminated in the first round of the men’s doubles.
