Schrötter is ninth after a strong race to catch up

Motorcycle pilot Marcel Schrötter finished ninth in Moto2 at the Italian Grand Prix with a strong recovery.

The 29-year-old from Vilgertshofen only started from 20th place in Mugello after a botched qualifying session, but then fought his way up lap by lap.

The winner of the race was reigning Moto3 World Champion Pedro Acosta (Spain). The Italian Celestino Vietti, who retired in Mugello, leads the World Championship standings with 108 points, Schrötter is seventh with 64 points.
