For the teachers of VeenLanden College, the summer holidays started as always – until one phone call changed everything. Their student Lorenzo Ravesteijn (14) had died unexpectedly from an extremely rare, aggressive form of cancer that rarely occurs worldwide. The shock was great. How do you, as a school, guide a community that has to cope with such a loss? And how do you work together with parents who are in the middle of their mourning?
