During the busy summer period, employees at Schiphol receive a bonus of EUR 5.25 gross per hour on top of their normal wage. The summer bonus also applies retroactively to staff who worked during the past chaotic May holiday. The surcharge is part of a broader agreement between the airport and the trade unions FNV and CNV to make work at Schiphol more attractive.
