Midfielder Lino Tempelmann (26) leaves Schalke 04 and permanently joins the second division rival Eintracht Braunschweig. This was announced by the clubs on Saturday.
Tempelmann has been playing for Lower Saxony in loan since the last winter break and, as a top performer, made a decisive contribution to relegation. In Braunschweig, he signed a contract until 2028.
“With his extremely strong performance in the second half of the season, Lino showed that he is a difference in this league and has also played in the hearts of our fans,” said Braunschweig’s sports director Benjamin Kessel.
Tempelmann scored seven goals in a total of 18 missions and prepared two more goals.
Schalke receives a transfer fee for the club fund one year before Tempelmann’s end of the contract, according to Kicker, it is 300,000 euros. The player had “clearly expressed that he sees his future in Braunschweig,” said Schalke’s director Professional football Youri Mulder.
