Schalke 04 are apparently expecting a busy deadline day. In addition to the transfer of Adil Aouchiche, there could be two more new additions. According to information from “Sky”, the second division club is working on a move for ex-Barcelona talent Moussa N’Diaye. The 23-year-old from RSC Anderlecht is a candidate for the Royal Blues’ left wing. It is said that negotiations between the clubs regarding a loan are ongoing and a transfer has been taking concrete shape since Sunday evening.
N’Diaye came to the Belgians from Barça’s second team in 2022, with whom he is contractually bound until 2028. So far there have been 102 games for the fourth-placed team in the Jupiler Pro League, this season there are 20 appearances, but only eleven of them from the start. If signing the Senegalese doesn’t work out, S04 has an alternative up its sleeve. This is Ondrej Zmrzly from Slavia Prague. The 26-year-old was also recently traded by Holstein Kiel.
Another striker for Schalke 04? Transfer depends on Sylla
Another new striker could also come to Gelsenkirchen alongside Edin Dzeko. Arminia Bielefeld’s Joel Grodowski was last traded. But everything depends on whether Moussa Sylla’s MLS move works out. The center forward should move to New York City FC, everything seemed to be negotiated. A transfer fee of 7 million euros including bonuses was reported. But the transfer is said to stall on the home stretch.
Update 11:48 a.m.: According to Sky, the reason for this is that New York has suddenly wanted to renegotiate since Sunday evening. But Schalke is not ready for that. The fronts have hardened, which is why the deal could still fall through. Then no new attacker would come. According to information from “Bild”, there were problems with the 26-year-old’s medical check-up. Minor aches and pains are said to have been discovered there, which is why the Americans apparently only want to borrow Sylla.
Schalke have already caused a few surprises this winter and, in addition to Dzeko, who came on a free transfer, they also brought in former Cologne player Dejan Ljubicic. Heidenheim’s substitute goalkeeper Kevin Müller was also signed on loan.
