Schalke 04 passes Boujellab on to Helsinki – Officially awarded by FC Ingolstadt

For match practice in Finland

Schalke’s own child Nassim Boujellab will not end the season at S04, but will try his luck again at a loan station. After the unplanned departure from FC Ingolstadt in January this year, the 22-year-old midfielder is moving to the Finnish Veikkausliiga to HJK Helsinki. Officially, the young professional is loaned out by the FCI to third club Helsinki. After the loan from Schalke, originally scheduled for the summer, the Royal Blues will continue their engagement in Finland until the end of the year, i.e. until the end of the season there.

“Nassim is a young player who needs match practice to develop further. He will be given this opportunity in Helsinki,” said Schalke’s sporting director Rouven Schröder. “Nassim and we are also convinced that the step abroad will also do him good in terms of his necessary personal development. We wish him all the best for his time in Helsinki.”

FC Ingolstadt ended its cooperation with Boujellab in January because, according to the FCI, the player “repeatedly violated internal club and team rules and regulations”. The three-time Moroccan international only made eight competitive appearances as a substitute during his time at the Danube and was unable to meet the sporting expectations placed on him by the newly promoted second division. His contract with the Royal Blues is valid until 2023.
