All is not well in the Swedish national skiing team.
Skier Moa Ilar is not afraid to say that there are problems in the Swedish national team.
Swedish newspaper Expressen revealed on Friday that the blue-yellow camp wants head coach Anders Byström fired. The skiers, who remained anonymous, criticized the team’s internal communication and management.
The worst example was the treatment of superstar Linn Svahn at the Olympics. He was sidelined from the 50 km race with a text message notification. A return ticket home was included.
– I don’t think so [kommunikaatio- ja johtajuusongelmia] is only on the women’s team. It’s a more common problem for us, Ilar told Iltalehte.
– Communication is always a difficult thing. We have to talk to each other and see what we can do better next year, he added.

Experienced Jonna Sundling plans to share her honest opinion when the Swedish team holds feedback discussions after the season.
– I myself dare to say what I think, and hopefully others will do the same, he announced.
Mysterious answer
Sundling would have hoped that the matter would not be discussed in public. It was the other way around.
– I am one of those people who want to handle this matter within the team. Now it’s out, though.

Frida Karlsson also repeated the same lines as Sundling. He, too, hoped for “internal processing within the team”.
– We have to talk things through with the team. With people who can really influence things. We won’t get anywhere if we don’t talk to the right people, Karlsson formulated enigmatically.
The skiing colleagues hardly agreed to talk about Svahn’s alleged unpleasant treatment.
– It’s not something I need to comment on, Sundling said.
– Linn can talk about it herself, but it’s unfortunate that we have such a situation, Ilar continued.
