In a recent interview on the A24 channel, after the resignation of José Luis Espert to his candidacy in the middle of the case of “Fred” Machado, the liberal economist Roberto Cachanosky surprised with a revelation that put the internal practices of Freedom progressed under the magnifying glass. He reported an episode that occurred in 2018, when Espert began to delineate his presidential candidacy for 2019, and summoned him to join the space with his then campaign manager, Nazareno Etchepare.

As he explained, Espert proposed that he was a candidate for deputy for the province of Buenos Aires. Cachanosky remembered textually: “When José Luis started in the candidacy in 2018 he called me and we met with Nazareno Etchepare in the Acassuso dandy, drinking the three of them. There he asked me to be a candidate for deputy for the province. I say ‘I look, I see it complicated, I prefer capital’. Nazarene tells me ‘The first place for capital is for the capital.

The phrase generated a strong impact on the study. With those words, the economist implied that the candidacies within the spert space were negotiated in exchange for money. A24 drivers, visibly uncomfortable, chose to go to an advertising cut immediately after the statement.

The episode not only revived the controversy over transparency in freedom, it advances, but also occurs at a time of maximum political sensitivity for the libertarian space. The revelation of Cachanosky, confirming alleged irregular practices in the formation of the lists, ended up aggravating the painting.
