During June, the police became aware of several scam attempts made on behalf of S-bank.

In its release, the police warn of citizens about scam messages being sent. The official text message reads: “Your online banking has been blocked due to too suspicious activity on your account, also continue to use our services as a matter of urgency: SPankki-Vapauttaa.com”.

The link takes the user to a website where they are asked to identify themselves with their own bank IDs, among other things. Through this, criminals gain access to scam money.

In addition to SMS scams, an advertisement has also circulated on Facebook to entice people to buy a discounted iPhone 13 in the name of cooperation between S-bank and DNA. Through the link in the advertisement, S-bank’s customers are asked to enter their bank details.

Police recall that real banks do not ask for their customers ’bank IDs anywhere other than the online banking website and mobile app.
