SC Paderborn found what they were looking for when looking for a successor for Lukas Kwasniok. Karlsruhe’s U19 coach Ralf Kettemann will inherit the outgoing trainer, as the East Westphalia announced on Tuesday. The 38-year-old previously waves the greatest triumph of his career so far, because on Friday evening (6 p.m.) the U19 DFB Cup final is against Werder Bremen.
“With the commitment of Ralf Kettemann, we also consistently continue our Paderborner Weg in the coaching position,” said Paderborn’s managing director Sport Benjamin Weber. “His teams are characterized by strength and flexibility, so it fits optimally in our requirement profile. In addition, Ralf knows very well to work with young players and to develop them further.”
Kettemann, who completed 43 third division games for VfR Aalen and Stuttgart Kickers as an active professional, took over the U19 of the KSC in July 2021. In 99 games under his leadership, the team collected an average of 1.92 points. Recently, he spoke in detail in the TM interview, among other things, about his career and football philosophy. “I think a lot in solutions, never ideal in one. If I want to play like Guardiola in the U19, I don’t do the boys a favor,” said Kettemann.
Kettemann succeeds Kwasniok, who took over SC Paderborn in July 2021 and took fourth place in the past season. Although he was traded in both first and second division clubs such as Hoffenheim and Schalke, he is apparently faced with a break. “I worked for Paderborn for four years. It is difficult for me to identify myself with a new task at the moment,” said Kwasniok recently. However, he has not completely excluded a commitment to the new season (to the article).
