SC Magdeburg signs European champion Claar

The German handball champion SC Magdeburg has signed the Swedish European champion Felix Claar for the coming season. The 25-year-old playmaker has signed a three-year deal until 2026.

“We are very happy and happy that Felix Claar, one of the most talented playmakers in Europe, has chosen us and SC Magdeburg,” said SCM trainer Bennet Wiegert: “He is a strong overall package that not only uses his qualities on the offensive but can also play an intelligent defense.”

Claar, who was also on the record for Sweden’s 37:33 against Germany on Thursday in Mannheim, comes to the Elbe from Danish top club Aalborg Handbold and is the first Magdeburg signing. The right-hander was also part of Sweden’s squad for the 2021 World Cup in Egypt, where the Scandinavians were runners-up.
