SC Freiburg will have to do without Maximilian Philipp (29) and Roland Sallai (26) for the time being. As the Breisgauer announced on Saturday, Philipp suffered a sprained acromioclavicular joint in the 3-1 win in the Europa League at FK TSC Backa Topola from Serbia and was operated on in Freiburg that morning. Sallai, who recently recorded a market value increase of 2 million to 12 million euros in the Bundesliga update, was diagnosed with a torn muscle fiber in his left thigh.

The club did not announce an exact downtime. After the game on Thursday evening, coach Christian Streich spoke of a “three to four week” break for Sallai, who was substituted after 24 minutes. Philipp had to go off after a fall on his shoulder in stoppage time in the first half. Sports director Klemens Hartenbach had already said during the half-time break: “A relaxed personnel situation is becoming a tense one.”
