New signing Johannes Wurtz will not be available to represent SC Freiburg in the second half of the season. The 31-year-old attacker was supposed to use his experience to help the team in the fight to stay in the third division, but he tore his cruciate ligament during the training camp. The Breisgauers are currently eleven points behind the first non-relegation place at the bottom of the table.
“This is very bitter for us, but also for him personally,” explained Andreas Steiert, the head of the Freiburg youth academy. “Whether we will react again is still an open question at the moment.”
