Rumors about top clubs

Johan Manzambi, who is courted by top European clubs, is not allowed to leave SC Freiburg in the winter. “We don’t have to think or talk about whether he will be in Freiburg beyond the changeover phase. That’s a given,” said coach Julian Schuster before the Breisgauer game in the Europa League on Thursday evening (9 p.m./RTL +) at LOSC Lille.
How the situation will look in the summer remains to be seen. In the rumor mill, several top clubs are considered interested in Manzambi – including Bayer Leverkusen and FC Bayern as well as Champions League participants Galatasaray.

The 20-year-old Swiss is one of Freiburg’s top performers with nine scorer points across all competitions. Manzambi was able to increase his market value from 8 million to 30 million euros this season, making him the most valuable professional in Schuster’s team.

SC Freiburg is only one point away from moving straight into the Europa League round of 16. This would allow the playoff phase to be skipped and the load reduced. Lucas Höler (31, infection), Lukas Kübler (33, knee injury) and Max Rosenfelder (22, load control) are not there in Lille.
