Sassuolo can hold Berardi: Most Valuable and Longest-Serving Outfield Player extended

After record sales

Sassuolo had to let the top scorer, Gianluca Scamacca (16 goals), go after last season. The second best remains: winger Domenico Berardi (15 goals) has extended his contract with Neroverdi. The new contract of the most valuable player in the squad is now valid until 2027.

With the sales of Scamacca (West Ham) and, among others, Jeremie Boga (Atalanta), Sassulo had generated income of over 68 million euros, which is higher than ever for player sales in one season. The 28-year-old Berardi, who joined from Juventus in 2015 for €10m, is entering his eighth season at Emilia-Romagna. Only the goalkeepers Andrea Consigli (35) and Gianluca Pegolo (41) are longer in the current professional squad.
