The Lithuanian coach made a statement at the press conference held after the match played at Ülker Sports and Event Hall.
Congratulating his players and fans for the victory, Jasikevicius said, “We showed one of the best performances of the season in the first half. We played very disciplined. We controlled the tempo of the match. We were very good in the first half. It was a match in which we had to learn lessons about what we should do in the first half and what we should not do in the second half.” he said.
Speaking about the performance of the new transfer Nando de Colo, who scored 16 points in the match and became Fenerbahçe’s top scorer, Sarunas Jasikevicius said, “We expect De Colo to make the same contribution. De Colo is a special player. I am very happy to have him.” he said.
Sharing his views on the 3-year extension of his contract, which will expire at the end of the season, the Lithuanian head coach said:
“I continue to do my job. I am very happy to be here. I try to do my best. I know that I need to be calmer. I am never satisfied. This is one of my problems. I am very competitive, just like when I was a player. This is both my strength and one of my weaknesses. What we win goes to the museum, and we always aim to win more trophies for Fenerbahçe.”
PEDRO MARTINEZ: “IT WAS A VERY DIFFICULT AND PHYSICAL MATCH”
Valencia Basket Head Coach Pedro Martinez said that they fought well throughout the match.
Sharing his views on the match, Martinez said, “It was a very difficult and physical match. We had problems in defense. We had difficulty stopping the opponent one-on-one. We fought for 40 minutes and did not give up. We should be happy in this respect. I congratulate Fenerbahçe Beko for the victory.” made his assessment.
