Sarkozy withdraws from Court of Cassation, sentence to one year of ankle bracelet is final

The French Court of Cassation has rejected the cassation appeal of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy. This makes his sentence of three years in prison, of which one year effective, for corruption and influence peddling in an eavesdropping affair final. Sarkozy’s lawyer has already announced that he will go to the European Court of Human Rights.
